Clarendon Lock Clarendon Lock, Knockvicar
Keeper: Padraig Lynch
Telephone: 071 9667011
Dimensions: 102ft x 30ft
Clarendon Lock is the only lock on the Boyle River between the confluence with the Shannon and Lough Key. Can be a strong sideways push from the weir when approaching from downstream.
Albert Lock, Jamestown Cut Albert Lock, Jamestown Cut
Keeper: Michael Bourke
Telephone: 071 9637715
Dimensions: 102ft x 30ft
The Albert Lock sits at the southern end of the Jamestown Cut which bypasses the unnavigable stretch of river between Drumsna and Jamestown.
Roosky Lock, Roosky Roosky Lock and Bridge
Keeper:
Telephone: 071 9638018
Lock Dimensions: 102ft x 30ft
Bridge Headroom: 11ft closed / 20ft open
High air draught boats will require the lifting bridge to be raised when passing up or downstream from Roosky. Lock keeper is also the bridge keeper.
Tarmonbarry Lifting Bridge Tarmonbarry Lifting Bridge
Keeper: Liam Cox
Telephone: 087 9222020
Headroom: 9ft closed / 17ft open

The same type of bridge as Roosky, this bridge is located immediately upstream of the lock, and is operated by the Tarmonbarry Lock Keepers. When coming from upstream, you can contact the lock either by phone, if you have a cell phone on board, or by mooring at the jetty above the bridge and walking down to the lock. In the summer months, you will get through by just waiting for the next lock-full of boats heading upstream.
Tarmonbarry Lock Tarmonbarry Lock
Keeper: Liam Cox
Telephone: 087 9222020
Dimensions: 102ft x 30ft

One of the deeper drops, Tarmonbarry is subject to strong weir pull above the lock, and usually strong wind below the lock. High boats will also require the bridge to be lifted.
Clondra Lock, Clondra Camlin River Lock, Clondra
Keeper: Liam Cox
Telephone: 087 9222020
Dimensions: 75ft x 18ft
Sitting at the entrance to the Camlin river, Clondra is a fairly tight little lock and relatively little used.
Richmond Harbour Lock Richmond Harbour Lock, Clondra
Keeper: Liam Cox
Telephone:
087 9222020.
Dimensions: 65ft x 13.5ft
Richmond lock controls the entrance to Richmond Harbour from the Camlin River, and the defunct Royal Canal.
Athlone Lock Athlone Lock, Athlone
Keeper: Tim Connelly
Telephone: 090 6492026
Dimensions: 127ft x 40ft
A large lock chamber, but care is required when approaching from either side, as the neighbouring weir has strong course deviating effects in spite of shuttering.
Victoria Lock, Meelick Victoria Lock, Meelick
Keeper: Stephen Mc Garry
Telephone: 0509 51359
Dimensions: 142ft x 40ft
A large lock chamber - the first lock upstream from Lough Derg. No particular hazards or problems here, apart from minimal mooring.
Portumna Swing Bridge Portumna Swing Bridge
Keeper: Christopher Houlihan
Telephone: 090 9741011
Headroom: 4ft
Effectively delimiting the northern tip of Lough Derg, Portumna Bridge is not negotiable by any craft with air draft of anything more than a rowboat. The bridge does not open by request, but rather at fixed times of day.
Ardnacrusha Ships' Lock ESB Ardnacrusha Ships Lock
Keeper: Gerry Reid
Telephone: 061-345515 (ask for lock) or 087-9970131
Dimensions:
Below the southern limit of navigation for hire boats, Ardnacrusha is a mind blowing lock experience. With two lock chambers providing a combined drop of a hundred feet, it takes some nerve to put your expensive cruiser through it. The river is tidal below Ardnacrusha.
  Limerick Lock
Keeper: Dick Sparling
Telephone: 087 7972998
