Water levels Carrick on shannon.

Just got a call to say that Carrick on shannon is under a lot of water at present, one particular vessel "crystal water" that is tied to the quay wall directly north of the bridge is now on the footpath/road if any members know the owner could they make contact with them please,
Staff at butlers marina are currently welding extensions to the piles on the floating jetties.Inver gael marina is in a similar situation,
Carrick craft, any boats on the hard are in danger of being lifted off the stands and floating away,
Things are not expected to improve and if anything will deteriorate even more.

Photo relayed from Con Meegan's phone

Jetties close to floating clear of their piles in COS. I understand folk had been wielding extensions to some of these piles over the weekend. Sort of Blitz spirit, get stuck in and help out - well done all. Same seemed to be going on in Killaloe on Friday, marina owners in Killaloe had rearrange lines on boats, moved boats to safer positions and were keeping an eye on them over the weekend.

Spoke with a Carrick native this morning who tells me levels have dropped by 6 inches up untill noon today, but heavy rain has been falling again and the people affected by the floods are far from hopefull that things will improve much in the near future.

Carrick levels have droped approx 3" per day for the last three days,so things are looking up at last.
