Cheer Duncan/Mick, Yep financial reasons would have me going with it as is but mothers voice in my head saying " If your going to do a job do it right" won out in the end She might get a test run at some stage to work out the balance and to mark the water line but I don't think shel will be finished it all depends on how much time God and the wife give me to work on her.

I now have the strut cut out and welded up and the prop shaft made. I just have to sink it in a bit more and then fiberglass it up along with the prop tube that will hold the stuffing box. Next is to cut out for the rudder it's a bit tight but should fit "I hope" then when every thing is glassed up I will do another 3-4 more coats of paint and polish. My builds. Fergal, a beautiful job, you put us to shame. The new creation has to be well supported. Keep up the good work. Joe. Ps. tried FJ Keoghs for some rubber 'D' moulding for our project to no avail - any thoughts ? Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 24/02/2012 08:39 by joe treacy.

I moved the boat forward by putting a few bits of pipe under the building frame and just rolled it out, next I added two 8 foot lengths of 4x2 to the boat to use as handles and to keep it off the ground. It was a bit tight on one side Sorry no photo of the turn as my hands were full, but with the help of 3 mates we got her on her side then lifted it up from the bottom and over she went. For the first time she is looking like a boat

Fergal, I have followed your story from the powerboat.ie days, how you coped with the sad times in your life, and your amazing boat building achievements. Huge Admiration and Respect Dermot Cheetah 304.

Thanks for that, there is nothing like a boat to give a bit of escapism from all the @#$%& that life can throw at you. although sometimes the boat can be the cause of a lot of the @#$%&
