Great shots. Keep 'em coming. Like 79m,which was the last M boat built. She was retained by OPW as a work boat and now lies in Tullamore Harbour.

As Bick F knows well, 80m is a replica m boat. It's only a few years old. 79M is an original built in 1937 .
80m has no commercial history being built purely as a pleasure boat.

Indeed PJ, perhaps it could earn some "heritage" by doing The Green and Silver Pilgrimage for the next 25
years....!! Hmmmm......I wonder if that'd be sufficient proof for i41M...??

I agree lads, no commercial history, and a replica, but 80M was built as close as possible to the original M barge design.... Its funny to think that if 103B & 118B had been put into the grand canal company fleet and not cancelled and sold off, 80M would now be 82M smiling smiley

If I were to build a replica canal boat it wouldn't be an M. The shape of the hull makes it butt through the water like a large concrete block. A shape like some of the horse boats,DabĂș or 4E or a B boat like 4B would still give plenty accomodation but also a good turn of speed.

True enough PJ......but all those compound curves are a lot harder to replicate...!!!
