Hi All,

I hope the new year is treating you well. Just a reminder of 2011's last Rambler action... I've eventually done a blog post. You'll see quite a few of the photo's I've already included here... but then you'll see others...

I'll be doing a few more canal related posts in the next few weeks... my Grand Canal trek has started... so, I'll need to get a AJ's Grand Canal Life thread going on the forum soon...

Cheers for now,
AJ aka Vossie cool smiley

Lovely stuff AJ, gives a picture of an end to a story that began in early June with a now notorious bridge. Between "Is feider.." and "Rambler Returns.." there has been nearly eight thousand views, no doubt helped along by your pictures ( and hurting back !!). A great season for boating and hopefully more to come.
The time enjoyed between these two scenes will be remembered by many.

Last of the Summer Whine...ehhh...Vossie...?? Dont you fret though, this summer has already begun. We're hard at work persuading people with boats to take a chance on appearing in one of the Infamous Vossie's blogs....!!

Paul,

yes the crew in general had a back seat behind the star - Rambler. Amazing the amount of people taking pictures of her as she sits on her winter mooring ( Hollywood !! ). Two young lads when looking her over asked which room was Dicks and when I explained that the film crew did not actually stay aboard, dissapointment all round ! Indeed the boat was the star.
The picture above of Ben and Evan Connon was of course the arrival of Rambler at Confey , Evan did a great job in bringing her from the summit level to Leixlip.

This one of Ramblers owner, John Connon, in a "4E sandwich".

John Connon Snr. ( Bona Spes ) with John Jnr. ( Rambler)

Some mid-trip crew.

Hi all,

just a little footnote to this thread, Rambler has made a third trip along the Royal Canal and is in Shannon Harbour after performing the duties of commodores boat for the forty first canal boat rally. All reports said the Royal was in excellant condition and WI and staff are to be commended for this.

The picture below is the camera boat operator with his freshly launched upgrade, meeting Rambler as she entered Shannon Harbour,

Joe
