Planning to move my boat to the Shannon from Kildare for the first time, but found out today when I rang WI that the Grand Canal is closed near the old Briquette Factory because they found an alien invasive weed species. Spraying failed to eradicate it, so now the soil for a two mile stretch has to be removed and replaced. Earliest planned opening would be March 17th, but more likely to be into April.
Does anyone know where I can rent or hire a boat trailer with about 2.5 ton capacity (Seamaster 27) to get the boat up to the Shannon? I have the workhorse to pull it.
