Hi All,

Just a reminder that we have a workparty scheduled for next Saturday to gather a bit of Royal Rubbish at the top end of Spencer Dock. Meet up at the Cill Airne jetty on the North Wall for 11.00. The more hands the better so all are welcome.

An example of the type of crap that gathers in the basin. The bridge WONT be up so hard hats wont be required....!!

Hi All,

Slight change of plans.
Due to ongoing works in Spencer Dock access through the sea-lock will not be possible tomorrow. We have decided to move the workparty a few hundred yards upstream to above Lock 1.
Plan now is to meet up at Lock 1/Charleville Mall at 11.00 AM and clear as much rubbish as possible from within and above the lock.

BRING WORKGLOVES...!!!

Hi All.

A very successful work party on Saturday morning. We left the canal spotless above Lock 1 and on up to Lock 2, with only a small amount of rubbish escaping down to lodge above Effin Bridge.
Ok, whilst that's actually true, Spencer dock had been refilled sometime on Friday and it looks as if the racking had cleared most of the rubbish for us with very little remaining for us to gather. Still, although a bit cool in the shade, a nice dry bright morning sitting on the canal bank, drinking coffee, eating breakfast rolls and chatting with friends. I believe Joe Treacy may have a few pics to post...!!

Hi all,

a few pics from Saturday morning, not a lot of litter picking done as the canal was exceedingly tidy - a good sign obviously. The usual Dublin Branch banter and some thoughts on extending the scope of these work parties. Well done again to Dublin IWAI.

Joe .

Spot the lurker in the first pic!

Well done, one and all!! "Work parties" are an excellent way of improving our environment as well as being a great advertisement for IWAI.
