Greetings,
We've just managed to obtain a small supply of the book "Rivers of Dublin"
by Clair L Sweeney. This book was originally published by Dublin City
Council in 1991 and these copies are from the original print run.
The book is a discourse on rivers, rivulets, watercourses and wells - many
hidden, unknown or forgotten - and other related things of old Dublin and
environs - Cultural City of Europe 1991. The parameters of this work could
be described as geographical, historical and anecdotal. How these water
sources were affected by or influenced history and the development of the
city is discussed. In describing the progression of the watercourses and the
associated history and other incidents in their catchments, illustrations
and diagrams are provided to assist the reader. the rise and fall of the
popularity of wells, holy, chalybeate or otherwise is also presented. A
beautifully illustrated book published by Dublin City Council. 116 Pages
280x280x8mm approx. 35 Euro plus P&P

Best Wishes,
Colin Becker
