Summer 2012 Inland Waterways News

Summer 2012 Inland Waterways News
16 April, 2012 13:25
Greetings,

The summer issue of Inland Waterways News will be going to press in May and as usual, I'm happy to consider submissions from members for inclusion in the magazine. In particular I would like to get a few technical articles about some aspects of either the waterways themselves or about boating.

Our cutural editor will also consider quality submissions for the "Cultural Interlude" section.

As usual entries are open for the Winport Winning Shot photo competition.

The rules have been explained on this frequency many times before.
Dare I suggest that potential contributors look back at some of the recent winning entries to get a sense of what we like.

Best Wishes,

Colin Becker
Editor, IWN

On a less pleasant note, Erin was appalled, when visiting one of her favourite spots in Lough Key Forest Park, to discover that some low-lifes had been there before her and simply discarded all their rubbish (including a tent!) Half an hour and a couple of binbags later, she had gathered it all up and left it beside one of the paths to be collected by the park authorities. A pretty public-spirited act, in my opinion!

I wish to congratulate the young lady "Erin" on her actions towards the preservation of our beautiful lakeland environment. On behalf of the many tourists who still wish to visit our waterways, I say Thank you Erin. You are a credit to our country.
