Hi All, Just in case any of our members did'nt get this by e-mail this evening, either through us having an out of date address or no address at all........ M ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fellow members, Reminder The IWAI Assoc. AGM is on next Friday night, the 20th of April, at 8 PM, in the Mullingar Park Hotel, Dublin Road, Mullingar. Do go along and have your say or hear what others have to say...!! Next Branch Meeting Monday 30th April, at 8 PM, upstairs in in the Wellington Pub on the corner of Baggot St and Mespil Road. As most of you will know, the issue of the development of the Dunrovin site is coming closer to the decision stage. As a branch, we will have to bring a decision to the next Council meeting in September as to whether or not we will contribute to the funding process. The "ask" from the Executive is for 60% of our projected branch reserve, at the end of 2012. This will have considerable implications for our ability to fund our own local projects or engage in community events. We would therefore ask that you read the following documents from the Executive and come along to our next branch meeting on 30th April when the matter will be discussed. A description of Dunrovin, The Project (1.5M - detailing the project, purpose, plans, projected costs etc[dublin.iwai.ie] A Letter to Branches re funding the Dunrovin Project [dublin.iwai.ie] Suggested Pledges to be given by Branches - detailing the funds requested from each branch [dublin.iwai.ie] ]Dublin Rally We would also like to remind you that the Dublin Rally takes place between May 12th and 26th with additional boat movements on the Royal Canal on both the May and June Bank Holiday weekends. We are always looking for volunteer lockkeepers to help with these movements, so if you have a few hours to spare on any of the dates below, do come along. Instruction will be given to those unfamiliar with the task. We also need some help on Saturday 28th of April to give boat rides at the Ashtown Festival and possibly with locking some boats down and back from Castleknock Boat movement dates. Royal Canal Saturday 28th April, Castleknock/Ashtown Saturday 5th May, Castleknock/Phibsboro Sunday 6th May, Phibsboro/North Strand Sunday 3rd June, North Strand/Castleknock Grand Canal Saturday 12th May, Lock 12/GCD Thursday 24th May, GCD/Mespil Rd.
