Is this the way to go, I like the look of it but with my carers allowance been cut the last few years it's just out of my reach [www.afloat.ie]
Lovely looking craft, but I fear a "feel good" toy that doesn't really cut it environmentally or in performance terms as the hype suggests. Some negative reports on other hybrid craft in recent years. I like the idea, but would need to see the TCO proven over a decade of use. OceanFroggie
A hybrid system ? I have since removed the Yamaha because I find that the Torqeedos work very well - lots of power, and reasonable running time at half throttle. But - I am on a lake and do have sails to fall back on. ![]() Dermot Cheetah 304. P.S. Noel, How do I get the photo to open without clicking on it ? ![]() Edited 1 time(s). Where do you get the sunshine ? I suppose you could leave it out all spring in the sunshine before you start using the boat - and have the benefit of the stored power for a few days in the summer deluges. I'd say this would be more appropriate - until you got to a bridge. [www.skysails.info] CC www.anglingcharts.com Mucking about in boats. Edited 1 time(s). Curiously, the new generation of photo voltaics work on light rather than sunshine, and Ireland is really good for light! A test showed roof top photo voltaics to be much more effective in Dublin than Madrid, sorry can't remember the reference, but it was a test over a year or so. Dublin came out about 30% better which was remarkable. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum. Online UsersGuests within the past 30 minutes:
