SHANNON NAVIGATION
Banagher
Fin Swimming Event
Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and users of the Shannon
Navigation that a fin swimming event will take place in the Banagher area on
Sun 10 June between 1230 hrs and 1630 hrs.
The event will start at a point approximately 2.5km upstream of Banagher ,
at the junction of the Shannon and the Grand Canal, and finish in Banagher
at the marina slipway.
Swimmers taking part will be accompanied by a safety boat and will be
wearing high visibility swim hats.
Masters are requested to navigate at slow speed and with a low wash when
passing the area and note any advice from the event safety boats in the
interest of safety.
