Royal Canal
Summit Level Open

Marine Notice No 36 and 53 of 2012 refers

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and users of the Royal Canal that
the summit water level is currently at Top Navigation Level and is now fully
open to navigation.

However, because of continuing water supply issues, Waterways Ireland is not
in a position to guarantee the length of time this Top Navigation Level on
the summit will prevail.

Any masters wishing to move their vessels across the summit level,
particularly west of 26th lock at Coolnahay or east of 18th Lock at
Thomastown should avail of the opportunity to do so sooner rather than
later.

Present indications are that Top Navigation Level on the summit will prevail
until 17th June 2012 but cannot be guaranteed beyond that.
