Hi All,

Im new to this forum but have read with interest all the interesting posts for the last number of months and have found it to be both interesting, funny and very beneficial reading.

My husband and I are hoping to attend the 2012 Shannon Rally in July and never having been on a rally before Im wondering if anyone had any tips for us on what to expect on the rally. Is it something that you would recommend for us to do. Any advise or tips anyone could give to me would be greatly appreciated.

You are in for a treat - your first IWAI Rally!

Go, enjoy, socialise, follow the harbour masters' instructions, make loads of new boating friends and wonder ---- why did we not do this before?

A great welcome awaits you on the Shannon and all the other IWAI Rallies.

Melanie, As the Commodore of the 2012 SHannon Rally , I can assure you a warm welcome. You will of course be subject to the SHannon Rally "capture" effect, i.e. once you do one you'll do 10 !

As to what to expect, well its laid back , friendly , lots of music, fun , games and general socialising. Theres competitions if you want to do them or not,

Hints

Bring , fancy dress clothes knock-about clothes, final dinner dance clothes, a portable table and chairs, and food , cocktail ingredients if you like a pinacolada !!
