Glad ye made it down lads! I'm a seriously depressed boater sitting here after looking at those photos! I got a few shots of the fleet gathered in Limerick and I had planned to get a few more as ye left but I slept in ![]() I hit the road down the coast though and managed to catch up as ye past tarbert, was a lovely sight to see the fleet heading out with the cargo coming up river against ye! Best of luck with the rest of the trip and a safe return to Limerick and up onto Derg!!

It was a wonderful trip. The Shannon is now extended to Kilrush. it is a very managable trip for single engine boats. Each segment was carefully planned, group leaders for groups of 6 boats,. No it was not all "big plastic boats". come on fellow boaters , give it a go next time. A specialist team of Dave and Noel put in 1st class planning and we all enjoyed a wonserful week. personally i have made some wonderful new friends up and down the river. Stephen Maher Gerda
Great company and wonderful crews are what makes a rally, add "De Band" and you have pure magic. OF going back to work this week for a rest! Long day locking back up through Ardnacrusha on Sunday but with the winter flood conditions and strong flows it was great that we could all safely get up and down to lovely Limerick. Well done all. ![]() OF got up to Killaloe on Monday morning with Gerda and Calisto. Had a little nap on the drive home at J14 - wiped. z z z z Clare Champion [www.clarechampion.ie] OceanFroggie

It was pointed out to me by one of our crews that some records were set over the course of the week. Not something anybody was aware of at the time or particularly interested in, but with my anorak on presented some post rally curiosity. Records 1. Largest floatilla ever to visit Limerick City 2. Largest fleet to visit Kilrush 3. Largest number of vessels to transit Ardnacrush in one day 4. Longest distance travelled by a rally in one day - 36nm 5. Deepest lock descent and ascent - 102ft each way 6. Longest passage duration by a rally in one day - 8hr 7. De Band had its greatest no of guest performers ![]() And we used 8 locks out and back to the edge of the Atantic ! ![]() OceanFroggie
