Wooden Lighthouse on the river shannon

I can't remember which skipper it was, but one of the LSER skippers grandfather had worked in this lighthouse when it was in operation.

I think it was the Skipper of Delphin Noel. I seem to remember a conversation over vhf while passing it.

Does Gerry Byrne still own her Roger...?? Met him in Dublin last year and he doing the Green & Silver. Sure he's "one of the family"....so to speak...!!

@ Niall I think it's on sod island or the middle ground adjacent to Shannon airport from memory.

It was one of the crew not the skipper of Delphin .

How are you keeping John..?? Faoi D does get about a bit, fair dues. While I may have followed in your furrow across the Royal (managed to widen it a bit), think I'll be giving the eastuary a miss. Much prefer if 31 confines its going up and down on the water, to lock chambers...!! Was'nt Dicey's granda by any chance... ??

PS....Bumped into the Belturbet 5 in Shannon Hbr. They're away down to Waterford and back to Dublin for the Tall Ships.

Hi Mick .

Armstrong was his surname .
Cant remember his first name but it definitely wasn't Dicey .
Is there anyone else going to Dublin ?
It would be nice to have some company going through Tullamore .

Not Dicey so...as you've possibly guessed, his surname is Reilly.

There's 6 boats from Dromineer heading up this weekend, if thats any use..?? I believe they're already in Shannon Hbr. As yet, I dont know of anyone heading up from West of Tullamore after this. If I hear of anyone I'll let you know. Good to hear you're coming up again. What's your plans for heading out....?? The Grand and a Naas rally in Oct, or the Royal and Phizzfest in Sept...??
