Ulster Canal Guide Launch - London Boat Show

The formal launch of the new "Guide to the Ulster Canal" took place on the
Waterways Ireland stand at the London Boat Show on Friday 18th January.

Minister for the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure, NI, Brian
Cassells, President IWAI and ?amon ? Cuiv TD, Minister for Community, Rural
and Gaeltacht Affairs RoI.

The Guide is available in our on-line shop. It is also
available from a
number of outlets in the canal corridor. The book follows the same format as
the Grand, Royal and Barrow Guides with maps for each section of the
waterway and a range of historical, and other information that will be of
use to anyone wanting to explore the canal on foot, by car or on a bike.

At present there is no navigation on the canal but as restoration proceeds
we will publish revised versions showing the navigation details.

The 48 page Guide was compiled by Joe McCool and members of the Ulster Canal
Working Group. Maps were generated by ERA Maptec and the layout was by Nuala

Price from our on-line shop is 15 Euro.
