Some folks might be interested in the attached notice on the WI website.

Notice of Intent to Remove Craft under
Canal Act, 1989 Bye-Laws 1988
Waterways Ireland under the Canal Act 1986 (Bye Laws) 1988 hereby gives
notice that it intends to remove and dispose of all sucken vessels, hazards
to navigation, from Grand Canal Dock in Dublin after 18 March 2008.

Owners for these vessels have not been identified. Anyone claiming ownership
will be required to remove the vessel by 18 March 2008 at their own expense
or be responsible for Waterway's Ireland expenses in the removal and
disposal of the vessel.

Persons claiming ownership should contact Inspector of Navigation by email
(shane.anderson[AG]waterwaysireland.org) or telephone GSM (087-286 57 26)
before 10 March to make arrangements for the removal of the vessel.

Wish they'd remove some of the abandoned junk heaps in the Killaloe canal.
There is a right pile of junk in there.

Ah yes but it’s in jackeen country full of Celtic Tigers and near Leinster House. In Killaloe there are no €2 million penthouses being developed for celtic tigers. After all they don't want to look at dirty boats.

If you missed a programme on BBc1 tonight called 'Our Wee World' which was from the Fermanagh lakelands you missed a treat; what old people like me would call 'A lovely programme'. If you missed it and it is repeated watch it. I don't think it is on iplayer.

All to their own, I thought it was superb, I liked the kids wee play on
the railway station platform in particular and the singing was excellent
