Vessel sunk in entrance to Killaloe Canal

Vessel sunk in entrance to Killaloe Canal

Greetings,

We've had a report of a vessel sunk in the entrance to the canal in
Killaloe. It's said to be a small sailing boat and the mast is lying across
the canal such that it could obstruct any largish vessel trying to pass by.
Its unclear whether this vessel has been there for some time (there are a
number of boats sunk in that canal, some seem to have been there for yonks)
or this is a new sinking.
Waterways Ireland are being notified and I'm trying to get more information.

The Killaloe Canal is full of them ! Sunken boats I mean. I counted at least
5 last week.

distant past but was sitting upright until just recently when it tilted over
to obstruct the channel.
