MN#123/17 - GRAND CANAL - 33-34 Level re-opened
15 October, 2017 19:20
Greetings,

My spies have informed me that the Grand Canal is closed between 34th lock at Clononey Bridge and the 33rd at Belmont due to the failure of a culvert.

Haven't had any official word from WI but my understanding is they are putting in a dam tomorrow to hold the fish in and allow them get at the problem. No idea how long the closure will be for.

Rumours that this is a plot (perhaps by some of the Lilywhites) to prevent a certain Offaly boater from getting to the Kildare Rally are thought to be unfounded.

Best Wishes,

Colin
