The Inland Waterways Association of Ireland is pleased to announce the formation of two new Branches in the Association.

The Boyne Navigation Branch has been borne out of the Boyne Navigation Restoration Group who were, a sub-committee set up by the Dublin Branch of IWAI in the 1990s to continue the work of the original Boyne Branch. Recently BNRG won the Endeavour Award for their tremendous achievements.  As a group, they felt that to achieve their objective of restoring the Boyne navigation to working order, it would be appropriate to form a full Branch of the Association.

The IWAI Cruising club was recently formed as a non-geographic Branch, attracting members interested in cruising and leisure activities both on and off the water. The club’s objectives are to provide information evenings, social gatherings and also to promote and support IWAI activities.

On Saturday, the 2nd of June the Cruising Club held its first trip to Limerick.

IWAI wishes both branches well in their new endeavours.
