CHEEKPOINT walk
Start the walk at A
Faithlegg Church (St.Nicholas’s). Park car opposite the church and walk for
about 5 minutes passing St.Ita’s Well. B
Take second turn on the left uphill along a minor road to Deerpark Forest &
Minaun Hill. C Descend
steeply along a lane taking in views of Co.Kilkenny to the left, the Barrow
Bridge and Co.Wexford on the right. Turn left and down Power’s Hill to The
Moorings Public House (1). Turn right walking along the road by the river
and turn right again at the Suir Inn (2). Up through the village with the
Cottage Bistro (3) on your right. Follow the main road, passing Dobbyn’s
Field (4) on right and the Reading Room (5) on the left to reach the
crossroads with Power’s Shop & Post Office(6). You may then turn right along
High Street and return via your outward walk over Minaun Hill. Otherwise
follow the main road, taking great care with traffic. Spectacular views over
Waterford Harbour follow, passing the National School and Hurthill Road on
the way back to the Church.
Naturally, if you arrive by boat, you'll have a
different start/end point!
