TOWPATH BETWEEN LOCKS 3 AND 5

Waterways Ireland wishes to notify users of the Royal Canal towpath between
Locks 3 and 5 that Iarnród Éireann will be undertaking works to the boundary
wall over the coming weeks. 

Any impact on towpath use should be limited, but pedestrian management
measures will be put in place if required and the canal towpath will remain
open throughout.

Waterways Ireland apologises if any inconvenience is caused to its users.

Waterways Ireland wishes to notify masters of vessels and waterways users
that Tarmonbarry lock will be open for use from 0900hrs on Saturday 29th May
2021.

Some restrictions in the operation of the gates remain in place therefore
vessels are advised to take additional care when approaching the lock,
Waterways Ireland wishes to apologise for the inconvenience caused by this
closure.

Begnagh Bridge will be out of operation until Friday 4th June 2021 in order
to facilitate ongoing emergency repair works.

Waterways Ireland wishes to notify Masters and owners of vessels that Lock
26 at Athy on the Barrow Line of the Grand Canal is closed to navigation
until further notice for essential maintenance and repairs. 

Waterways Ireland apologies for any inconvenience caused to its users.
