At Saturday’s IWAI Carrick-on-Shannon Branch AGM, it was announced that Denise Byrne will step forward as Commodore for the 2019 Shannon Boat Rally! Denise will be ably assisted from the Carrick side by Oisin Morgan as Vice-commodore.
Congratulations to the both of you – the 2019 SBR will not be one to be missed!
Date for your Diary. 24th June 2017 – Summer Solstice Celebrations.
Meet in the Bush Hotel Friday 23rd June for registration.
We intend to travel to Lough Key and moor out overnight (weather permitting) in Erris Bay.
Get to know your neighbour, and if you have not “hung on the hook” before, now is your chance to experience it in the company of friends old and new. If the weather is on our side, this promises to be a magical evening.
Note: For this year, the Solstice Celebrations replaces the normal June CiC, at the request of some members who would like to support and attend the Carrick Carnival on the June Bank Holiday Weekend.
The Branch is proud to announce the arrival of its brand new trailer, which will be used for the storage of various pieces of equipment including the Kayaks. The trailer will be stored locally in Carrick-on-Shannon, where access will be available to members. Watch this space for further details once it has been fitted out and secured. Happy Birthday Trailer! See some photos in the link below.
