Mooring Buoys and Tranquil Moorings

We all love the tranquility of the Waterways, and on the North Shannon we are very lucky to have an abundance of opportunities to enjoy some of the most tranquil and picturesque settings on the River. The Carrick-on-Shannon Branch has placed a number of Mooring Buoys at some key points, which members can “hook up” to, and spend many wonderful hours watching the world go by, enjoy the weather, or sit and watch the wildlife go about their lives. These Mooring Buoys are situated between Oakport Lake (Cootehall) and Derrycarne (channel between Bofin and Boderg). Below are a list of these and representations on Charts of where to find them. Please note, that those of you who have CSIG Charts, will find that the buoys are recorded on them.
