Rope suppliers ?

Rope suppliers ?

Anyone know a good source for rope at reasonable price?

I'm looking for 18 or 20mm polyester 3-strand with a decent breaking strain. I need to make up new mooring lines for Chang-Sha and will probably need about 100m overall.

Best Wishes,

Colin

Hi Colin, I got my last set of mooring lines from "ropelocker.ie"
Good quality, reasonable prices, fast delivery. Also came with pre-spliced eyes.
Think he's based somewhere in Galway.

Hi Colin

I get my ropes off Amazon, if that's any use. They're certainly a reasonable price and the delivery is, so far, very good.

Cheers

I spoke to (I think) Simon in Kilrush Marina where RopeLocker.ie are based.

If you want to call in person as I hope to do next week, just phone Simon at + 353 (0)87 7774946 as he is out and about in the Marina.

The web site offers an impressive range of "ropes".

(Someone once told me that the only *rope* on a sailing yacht is the bell rope; all else are lines, sheets, halyards, warps etc...)
