SEW - Erin - Shann bridge height advise ?
30 June, 2019 21:01
Hi all ,

I just took my boat from the north on route to the Shannon .
The boat has an air draft of 3 mts.

I just did bsllyconell today and it was tight enough .

Can anyone tell me is this the lowest bridge ?

If the others are smaller or narrower I’m in trouble .

And advise in the other bridges would be great !

Bellaheady and Leitrim Village are the lowest, gauge is currently showing 4m at Leitrim. Normal average is 3.2m.

Ballinamore is narrow, and the approach is on a curve, so dead slow.

Thanks .... Ballyconnell looked about 3.5 ..... so it’s a good time to get through Leitrim if it’s showing 4?

I think bridge no 6 or is it 9 is very narrow and low. It's on the exit of one of the locks. Take care and clime up to your radar arch level to check before proceeding.
What is the name of your boat? We are heading to the Shannon soon and may meet up.

Lock 9 Kilclare, as you exit the lower gate, the bridge is narrow. Approaching Ballinamore Lock 6, the bridge is on a curve, so speed control essential. At current levels should be fine. Give the patrollers a call if you are unsure.
