Nav-Watch

Nav-Watch: Imagining Ireland’s Grand Canal, Royal Canal and River Barrow as suitable places for local and touring Anglers, Boaters, Canoeists, Kayakers and Paddleboarders. Places where people of all ages can live, play and work on the water, while enjoying and protecting the environment. Places where weed does not clog the water and prevent the movement of boats from May to September.

The Nav-Watch group has representatives from the Grand Canal, the Royal Canal and the Barrow branches of the Inland Waterways Association of Ireland. Users of the waterways can log information regarding any maintenance or infrastructural problem they encounter, in our survey tool. The information collected is then shared with Waterways Ireland to assist them with their planning and resourcing of work required to fix problems and keep the waterways usable.
